JC-JC: Intermediate Quilting - Jack's Chain with Jan Cunningham
This class is heavily dependent on accuracy! For the best effect, choose a background and then a contrasting color and raid your stash to find a variety of patterns in that color...you will only need strips 1 1/2" x 9".
For the class you will need:
Any machine that makes an accurate 1/4" seam.
Rulers: 6" x 24" and 6" square (If you have one with the 1/8" lines, even better) and you will also need a 4 1/2" square, which is very helpful.
Rotary cutter and Scissors.
Thinnest pins you have ( will need at least a dozen)
Fabric: 1/2 yard of background fabric (1 1/2 if you want to make a complete quilt). It works better is this fabric has a right and wrong side.
16 pieces of a contrasting color fabric (cut 1 1/2" x 9")
Make 16 accurate 3 1/2" nine patches (a hint sheet to make accurate random nine patches is available at the Quilt Shoppe).
Bring the 16 nine patches to class.
